Last Stop: Labor Day

I have to apologize for the lack of posts over the past month! This is one of our craziest times of the year. Now that we're approaching the end of August, summer is tragically beginning to come to a close. So if you're reading this post, let it double as a PSA: plan your last few barbecues! Harvest the rest of the watermelon! Whip out the sprinklers and the ice cream! Let's soak up every last drop.

There is something so unique and magical about summertime. Late, warm nights sleeping under the stars. Barefoot children playing around outside. The sunlight sweeping down on unsuspecting beach explorers. There is an element to summer that makes it seem timeless and full of life. Perhaps it's the sun--maybe we're finally spending enough time outdoors to get the Vitamin D we need to function properly. Maybe it's mother nature coming to life that awakens our senses--being surrounded by blooming flowers, fruits, vegetables, green grass and trees, insects and animals alike. Whatever it is, summer is precious, and we have to soak up every moment with the sun.

So then, if you're looking back on the summer and wondering where it went, it's time to plan your last hurrah. I realize that this is a vacation rental company's blog and you're probably now thinking, "Well, great. Now she's prepped us right up to advertise." While that may partially be true, I believe that no matter where you spend your last few days of summer, you've got to make it phenomenal! Whether you decide to take your trip right at home and plan a glorious stay-cation or travel abroad for an exciting adventure, make it count!

When is the last hurrah? Labor day, people. Labor day. Time to celebrate the working class of America (and Canada... I believe they celebrate Labor day too) and take a break! Your country is giving back to you to thank you for your participation in our industries and economy. Way to go! Give yourselves a pat on the back. Now, take a moment to look at the stock photo I've used for this blog post. Look how happy this family looks on the beach! You should totally go to a beach. Probably one in the northwest because there are more cool whales and less man-eating sharks. Maybe even a beach in Puget Sound so you're protected from the giant waves of the Pacific Ocean. What's the best island in Puget Sound? Obviously Whidbey Island. There you go! Decision made.

So I just checked, and if you do decide to take your family to the incredible Whidbey Island in Washington State, we've got four places left (that's out of around 50 properties, so if you want a spot, they're going quick!). Visit our website (see link below or link on the right side of the page) to book! Happy Labor Day, folks!

By the way, we have a new app! It's through "Glad to Have You" and you can download it once you've made a reservation on one of our properties. Not only does it provide you with information and instructions regarding your house, but it's filled with all kinds of goodies like state park information, restaurant suggestions, activities, kayak rentals, and so much more! I don't want to brag but... no, I do want to brag. Enjoy the awesome app :) And enjoy the rest of your summer!
