VACATION HOME SPOTLIGHT: 222 - Admirals Cove Seaside Getaway

This newly constructed, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home overlooks the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. The unique, three-story Cape Cod nautical style home features a spacious open floor plan, a master balcony, and a large screened veranda overlooking Admirals Lake (behind the home). As it is located across the street from the beach, easy access is just a short walk down the quiet road. This home is perfectly situated within a few miles of the Port Townsend ferry, Fort Casey, Admiralty Head Lighthouse, Ebey's Landing nature reserve, and the historic town of Coupeville.

Bring your yoga mat for a peaceful workout on the veranda, or just kick back and relax in one of the rocking chairs. Go for a morning jog on the flat level street towards the Port Townsend ferry dock or up the hill behind the lake. Ceiling fans in each bedroom keep them cool during summer nights, while the large gas fireplace keeps things warm and cozy during winter nights.

The home was built in 2014 and specifically designed with vacation home renters in mind (spacious, large bathrooms and large walk-in showers, modern fixtures and materials, and a coastal feeling throughout the home). In addition, the house was built tall in order to maximize the 360-degree views of the Sound, lake, and prairie land. A balcony and screened porch connect the house to the outdoors.

Prior to construction, the owner was seeking land in a beach community and had traveled throughout Whidbey Island to get a good understanding of the best area to construct a home. The Admirals Cove area is within minutes of various tourist activities (Fort Casey, Admiralty Head Lighthouse, Ebey's Landing State Park, the ferry dock to Port Townsend, and the historic town of Coupeville), so it's prime location for a vacation destination.

The owner personally loves the warm look of the walnut counter-top in the large kitchen island, and the complimenting mocha color of the French doors leading out to the screened porch. The fireplace provides a sense of ambiance. The wrap-around wainscoting above the master bath vanity and the claw-foot tub provide a beach feel to the space.

He loves reading the reviews of the home and how much the guests have enjoyed staying there. He also loves the modern construction of the home, while at the same time how it evokes a warm, friendly, and airy feeling. He hopes that guests feel like they are a thousand miles away from ordinary life as they enjoy the timeless feel of the location.
